Some games are fun. Some games are extra fun. One of them is Euro Truck Simulator 2. Strap into the cabin of aneighteen-wheeler, and roam free the roads and bahns of the European continent, delivering goods to andfro and making honest buck (euro) in between. So when there's a DLC, offered cheap, Cyber Mondaywhatnot, then you buy it, despite my stance on DLC in general, and you play some moar. Let's call it anexpansion pack, shall we?
The truck I had for the job felt underpowered, or perhaps it was simply the weight of the cargo. Butafter my Arctros, it felt sluggish, and I rarely could use the 12th gear while cruising, and had tostay in the 11th most of the time. That aside, the game continues to shine - and improves slowly butsurely. Road signs in Cyrillic, subtle differences in vegetation and road infrastructure, noice.
After that, I had to drive for another few hours, redo my journey through Helsinki, NOT missed theright turn, and then board the ferry. At least I got to see the port in daylight, so there's at leastthat. But the sense of indignation and frustration ... And it's only a truck simulator, right.
Well, only 3 cities in the Netherlands, it's small. I own the going east DLC, but I really expected more than just mid-east europe. Also missing countries from slovenia till greece, I hope that that will be a next DLC. I know that promods is huge, but I don't know if the quality is good. I've seen parts of greece and it reminded me of a game from 2005. I do like it, but the map could've been bigger. To cross from england to the east it takes about 2 to 3 real hours.
Euro Truck Simulator 2's map just got bigger with the release of its latest expansion, Beyond the Baltic Sea.Virtual truckers can now look forward to over 13000 km of new in-game roads which stretch across Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Southern Finland, as well as Russian territories such as Saint Petersburg and Kaliningrad. The expansion also brings 24 new major cities alongside many other smaller towns to the driving simulator. The new regions introduced in Beyond The Baltic Sea will boast characteristic Baltic architecture and known landmarks. A trip to Finland will also give long truck enthusiasts the chance to drive High Capacity Transports made up of one tractor and two long trailers. It goes without saying that these new regions come with their own traffic, whether cars, trams or trains, as well as more than 30 new local company docks and industries to engage with.Euro Truck Simulator 2 and its Beyond the Baltic Sea expansion are currently available on PC.
