Fluent NHibernate - Is it possible to remove a collection if its size is zero?
I have a class defined as
public class Foo
{
public virtual Guid Id { get; set; }
public virtual IList Bars { get; set; }
}
I want to add a where clause to the Bars collection to prevent any additions to the collection if its size is zero (so I can use a foreach to clear the collection):
var query = _session.Query()
.Where(x => x.Id == new Guid("1e91a79d-b1e0-4905-8b40-d61d04ef5941"));
I can't seem to find a suitable method for doing this, and I'm not sure if I'm just going about it the wrong way.
My first attempt was to use.HasMany(), and put a predicate in its AddToBars() method, but it looked like I had to override the many-to-many table and add the constraint there.

Doesn't NHibernate work like ORM (Object Relational Mapper)?
If not, it means you're trying to apply RDBMS rules (1NF, 2NF,...) to NHibernate, so it's not the right approach.
What you can do instead is to use an IList property instead of a collection:

{
public virtual Guid Id { get; set; }
public virtual IList Bars { get; set; }
public IList BarsCollection
{
get
{
return bars.Count > 0? bars : null;
}
}
